Soul Red Crystal Metallic (Color Code 46) is a color and paint design innovation by Mazda. The multi-shade effects of that color come from a new four-coat process that includes light reflective flakes, light absorptive flakes, tinted clear coat and a top coat. It is designed to enhance the vehicle body details by creating a brighter or darker red effects at different angles. At factory level, the robotic painters are precisely calibrated to spread the components of each layer to be equally dispersed over the painted surfaces to assure constancy of the color at all angles. The precision of each layer is critical to achieve the "work of art" result. Obtaining this type of precision with touch-up paint applicator will not be possible for Soul Red Crystal Metallic
The light reflective and absorptive flakes of the touch-up paint will not set in the exact way as the ones in the original paint applied at the factory, the scratch or clip covered with the touch up paint may not seem to have the same shade of red as the surrounding areas from certain angles.
